On June 8th, Gottesman RTW Academy celebrated 55 years of educating students, honored our more than 650 alumni, and, after two and a half years of COVID, it was finally the moment to honor Bill Rubenstein, Andrew Rubenstein, and the Rubenstein family as we publicly announced the naming of the campus for their family.

Having given a substantial gift to the school in honor of Bill’s father and Andy’s grandfather, Michael Rubenstein z”l who was one of the original founders of the school, we were thrilled to finally celebrate these extraordinary individuals for their support and dedication to Gottesman RTW Academy and the greater Jewish community.

Throughout the evening, several alumni speakers addressed the community and talked about how the school impacted their lives. They all expressed the importance of the school in raising strong Jewish leaders for the future.

Speakers included:

  • Rachel Wainer Apter ’94, the Director of the NJ Division of Civil Rights at the NJ Attorney General’s office and nominated to serve as an Associate Justice of the NJ Supreme Court.
  • Aviva Will ’82, Chief Operating Officer at Burford Capital, a litigation and finance firm.
  • Zack Widmann ‘08, the owner of ZHW Properties, a self-storage brokerage firm.
  • Jadyn Maher ’18, a rising freshman at Brandeis University
  • Zack Ramsfelder ’09, a recent graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and starting as an Associate in a law firm in the fall.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support and be a part of this special and beautiful night. Thank you to all our donors and especially our corporate donors for their strong leadership support. You are all helping us make a difference in the lives of these young children.

Thank you to all of those who worked so tirelessly to make the gala and Parent Association auction such a remarkable success. A special thank you to Richfield Regency for catering the event, Audrey Eppen Photography for capturing the evening, Shalom Orchestra for the great live music, Creative Image Productions for the gala video, Liron Kormas for creating the artwork for the school’s timeline/history, and Lori Waiser and her “Flower Girls” for the beautiful centerpieces. Thank you all for going above and beyond to make the evening so special.

Gottesman RTW Academy is growing and thriving, yet we are always striving towards making our school better. We are fortunate to have a community, parent body, faculty and staff, and administration united behind us and invested in the shared goal of maintaining Gottesman RTW Academy as a premier Jewish community day school in Morris County.
