GRTWA LIONS TEAM SPORTS:
All students in 5th through 8th grade are given a chance to compete in interscholastic co-ed sports. Our emphasis is not on winning, but on participation, learning, and having fun while competing. Students who participate in the Lions Athletic Program enjoy an environment that emphasizes a well-rounded sports experience. Students are taught sportsmanship and learn how to be part of a team, while developing strength, balance, discipline, and endurance. Our students compete against other day schools and private schools similar in size in a non-conference league.
During games, every student gets a chance to play. Our emphasis is not on winning but on participation and learning the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and humility towards coaches, referees, opponents, and teammates. We encourage students to play sports for recreation as well as for competition. Playing on a team at GRTWA is all about a positive attitude and learning to develop strategies to become successful.
GRTWA's Lions compete in soccer in the fall, basketball and volleyball in the winter, and intramurals in the spring.
