Art Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a part-time Early Childhood through Middle School Art Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of child development, experience working with diverse populations, and a strong commitment to nurturing students' artistic abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with state standards and school goals, catering to the developmental needs and interests of students from early childhood through middle school.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills.
  • Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that incorporate a variety of techniques, materials, and art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students with varying skill levels and learning styles, ensuring that all students can succeed.
  • Foster a love of art by exposing students to a diverse range of artistic styles, cultures, and historical periods through discussions, presentations, and hands-on activities.
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression through artmaking, allowing students to explore their own ideas and perspectives.
  • Assess student progress through ongoing observation, evaluation of artwork, and formal assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects, events, and initiatives that enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in art education, child development, and curriculum design.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and conducive learning environment that promotes creativity, respect, and collaboration among students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in art education, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • Previous experience teaching art to students in early childhood through middle school settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the ability to tailor instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for fostering artistic expression in children.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
  • Knowledge of art history, techniques, and materials, with the ability to incorporate them into instruction.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and equity.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor.

Child Care Providers and Aftercare Staff

 GRTWA is looking for experienced child care providers for our Early Childhood Center in our toddler and infant classrooms. We are also looking for aftercare staff. Candidates must have experience caring for infants and toddlers. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in child development or early childhood education
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Jewish early childhood education a plus

Full and part time positions are available. Hours needed are Monday through Friday

  • 8:00-3:30 p.m.
  • 3:00-6:00 (Friday 2:00-6:00)

Substitutes

 We are always in need of dedicated teachers and teaching assistants to be on-call, day-to-day substitutes, full and/or part day, to fill in when our classroom staff is absent.

  • Substitute teachers are needed in ECC through 8th grade, for both Judaic and general subjects.
  • A love of children is required
  • Previous experience is desirable but not required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of college is required, preferably in a related field.
  • A teaching certificate/experience is desirable but not required.
  • Though you may be called the morning you are needed, we will call you in advance whenever possible.
  • You will be asked to submit to a criminal background check and provide proof of legal status to work.
